Black Vestments

Black may be worn at Masses and Offices for the Dead and on All Souls' Day. Practice varies widely: many parishes now use white or violet at funerals, while others have deliberately returned to black. Both are permitted in the Roman Rite.

Our black pieces include a Requiem chasuble in satin with embroidery in gold-coloured thread, Requiem and funeral stoles in satin and velvet, and black cassock robes and habits for everyday wear.
