Black Vestments

Black may be worn at Masses and Offices for the Dead and on All Souls' Day. Practice varies widely: many parishes now use white or violet at funerals, while others have deliberately returned to black. Both are permitted in the Roman Rite.

Our black vestments are made in matte silk damask whose woven pattern still reads in the light, with silver or dulled gold orphreys.
