Overview
What this piece is
An ivory satin dalmatic with slender gold banding, a gold cross at the breast and its matching deacon's stole. Offered in nine sizes, S to 6XL.
Symbolism
White is the colour of light, of the Resurrection and of the baptismal garment, worn through Christmas and Easter and on the feasts of saints who were not martyrs. The vertical bands descend from the clavi of the Roman dalmatic.

Cut to your measurements
Nine standard sizes; matching chasuble or a second dalmatic quoted on request
An ivory satin dalmatic with slender gold banding, a gold cross at the breast and a second at the end of the matching deacon's stole. Cut by The Clergy Couture in nine sizes from S to 6XL.
The design
The banding here is deliberately narrow: paired gold pinstripes run the length of the front and back rather than the broad clavi of the coloured sets, so the ivory ground carries the garment and the gold marks it rather than covering it. A gold cross sits at the breast, and another at the falling end of the stole, which crosses from the left shoulder to the right hip in the deacon's placement.
Cloth and finish
Ivory satin rather than a stark white, which photographs better under warm chancel lighting and sits more kindly beside gold. Ivory is the least forgiving ground to tailor: every seam shows, so the seams are the thing to look at. Wide open sleeves finished flat, with side slits from the hem.
Size
Nine sizes, S to 6XL, measured flat across the finished garment: 28 in across the chest and 50 in long at S, 42 in and 60 in at 6XL. Because the figures are flat, double the chest width for the full circumference. A dalmatic hangs over an alb rather than fitting the body, so allow for what you wear underneath and take the larger size if you fall between two.
When it is worn
White is worn through Christmas and Easter, on feasts of the Lord other than those of his Passion, on feasts of Our Lady and the angels, on All Saints and on the feasts of saints who were not martyrs. It is also the usual colour for weddings and baptisms, and for funerals in many traditions. If a parish buys one dalmatic, this is the one to buy first.
What you receive
The dalmatic and its matching deacon's stole. The alb worn underneath is not included.
