Vestments are worn on a date. That makes delivery a more serious matter here than it is in most shops, so this page sets out what we commit to, what we estimate, and what is outside our control.
The short version
Stock items leave our workshop within one to three working days. Made-to-measure work is quoted with a completion date before you pay. International delivery typically takes five to twelve working days once dispatched. Import duty, where it applies, is paid by the recipient.
Where we ship from
Orders are made and dispatched from our workshop in Sialkot, Pakistan. The contracting company is Clergy Couture Group LLC, registered in Wyoming, United States, and that is the name that appears on your invoice and on your card or bank statement.
Dispatch times
| Order type | Leaves the workshop |
|---|---|
| Stock items and accessories | 1–3 working days |
| Stock garment needing minor alteration | 3–7 working days |
| Made to measure | Quoted individually before payment |
| Hand-embroidered or bespoke commissions | Quoted individually before payment |
Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in Pakistan. An order placed on a Friday evening begins its count on the following Monday.
Made-to-measure lead times
A made-to-measure garment is not stock with your name on it. It is cut, made and finished after you order it, and how long that takes depends on the garment, the cloth and the amount of embroidery. We do not publish a single number because a single number would be wrong for most orders.
What we do instead: before you pay for made-to-measure work, we confirm in writing the specification and the date the garment will be completed. If we cannot meet the date you need, we say so before taking your money rather than after.
Delivery times
These are typical transit times once a parcel has left us. They are estimates from our carriers, not guarantees, and customs inspection can add to any of them.
| Destination | Typical transit |
|---|---|
| United States and Canada | 5–10 working days |
| United Kingdom and Ireland | 5–10 working days |
| European Union | 6–12 working days |
| Australia and New Zealand | 7–12 working days |
| Rest of the world | 7–15 working days |
Shipping costs
The exact shipping cost for your address and basket is calculated at checkout, before you pay. There is no separate handling fee, and nothing is added after the order is placed.
Customs, duty and import tax
Parcels are shipped on a delivered-duty-unpaid basis. Where your country charges import duty, VAT, GST or a customs handling fee on goods arriving from Pakistan, that charge is levied on you as the recipient and is not included in the price you paid us. Your carrier will normally collect it before or on delivery.
We cannot tell you in advance what that will be — it depends on your country, the declared value and the tariff classification — but we can tell you what will be on the paperwork. We declare goods accurately, at the price paid, as clergy apparel. We will not mark an order as a gift or under-declare its value, whatever the reason given. Doing so is fraud in most jurisdictions and it invalidates any claim if the parcel is lost.
Religious and church organisations in some countries hold exemptions or reduced rates on liturgical goods. If yours does, tell us before dispatch and we will make sure the paperwork carries what your customs authority needs.
Tracking
Every order is sent with tracking. You will receive the number by email when the parcel is collected. If the tracking has not moved for five working days, write to support@theclergycouture.com with your order number and we will open a trace with the carrier.
Addresses
Please check the delivery address carefully before you place the order, and give a street address rather than a post office box wherever possible — most carriers will not deliver a tracked international parcel to a box. A rectory, parish office or church address is fine, but tell us the name the parcel should be addressed to, since a parcel left with an unnamed office can sit unopened for weeks.
We can change an address before dispatch. Once a parcel has been collected we cannot, and a redirection requested from the carrier is at their discretion and may carry a fee.
Late, lost or damaged parcels
- Late. Write to us with the order number. We will chase the carrier and keep you informed rather than telling you to contact them yourself.
- Lost. If a carrier declares a parcel lost, we replace the garment or refund it in full, at your choice. We do not ask you to claim from the carrier.
- Damaged. Photograph the outer packaging and the garment before doing anything else, and send us the photographs within seven days of delivery. We will remake, repair or refund.
- Refused or unclaimed. If a parcel is returned to us because import charges were refused or it went unclaimed, we will refund the goods less the outbound and return carriage actually incurred.
Ordering for a particular date
If a garment must be in your hands for an ordination, an installation, a patronal festival or any other fixed date, tell us the date before you order — in the order notes or by email. We will either commit to it in writing or tell you plainly that it cannot be done. We would rather lose the order than have a chasuble arrive the week after the Mass it was made for.
For seasonal sets, order well ahead. Advent and Lent both bring a rush, and cloth in the liturgical colours is not always available at short notice.
